Adrian and Tad enjoy a sunny day of park and powder at Timberline!

Premonition Films met up with the Snowhunnys crew for a trip to Eastern Oregon last week ! We met up with local and team rider Nicole “Marmot” Sullivan. She boondocks the trees like no one’s business on an Arctic Cat M1000, a very large machine, it was very impressive to watch! We got some bluebird sunny days in and had a blast ridding some perfect powder with her. With many laughs had by all, we look forward to riding again with her soon. It was a great trip, the drive was a bit rough with a major headwind in the gorge, freezing rain, and curvy, snowy backroads into the mountains, but it was worth it! We had wonderful time hanging out with her, unfortunately halfway through the last day see blew out the connecting rod in her engine and we had to leave the sled behind! She already got it back and is working on having it fixed as we speak. I’m sure she will have it done soon, due to the fact she is a very motivated rider and wants to be out on the hill as much as possible! Just me taking advantage of Portland’s first snow of the season! Nice to see 4 inches come down in a couple hours doesn’t happen that often here!

We are hosting a family Friendly Break Dance party/Art Festival down at the Salmon Street Studio on New Years Day! There will be free food, art hanging on the walls, live musical performances, and break dancing by Oregon’s best crews. Donations are accepted at the door by the Forty Fifth Parallel Oregon Zulus Universal Nation. All the money raised in this event will go towards putting in a dance floor in the studio for break dancing and other events! The first of the Dirty Trilogy which consists of “Dirty Old Men” “Dirty Movie” and “Curse of the Dirty Lens”. Dirty Old Men’s title came about as a joke about us being the “dirty old men” of snowboarding with most of us being 23-28 years old while 16 year olds like Shaun White were starting to dominate the sport. Often referred to as the funbox video due to the lack of snow that season and the fact we had Mt. Hoods first legit funbox! Some sick parts from Jason “Chief” Walker and Matt Guess to Start and finish the video. Despite the bad snow year it was a fun video to make and was also my first project in Final Cut Pro 3 after reading the manual cover to cover!

As we flash back further into the Premonition vault we come to the last movie of the Dirty Trilogy which consists of “Dirty Old Men” “Dirty Movie” and “Curse of the Dirty Lens”. We decided to finish the trilogy with Curse of the Dirty Lens after a season full of follow cams with snow splattered lenses and just about every other kind of bad luck including Chief’s Accident leading to his leg amputation at the start of the season. It was a rough one, but it signaled a change in guard as much of the younger generation was stepping up. It was a time where many of the experienced riders began to find different paths in life, but one thing will never change, the fact that most of us can’t wait to strap that board on season after season!

This one was one of my favorites to produce, it was such a fun year! It was our first venture teaming up with Northern Alliance to showcase their team of amazing riders. Starring Mt. Hood’s finest shred squad consisting of Corey Noble, Johnnie Paxson, Matt Guess and many others! Filmed all over the west from Mt. Baker to Utah and many places in between!
